The Origins of Sensitivity
The Freeze State
Humans are naturally different, reacting to their surroundings and experiences based on their conditioning or the past. Gender expectations often shape these responses; men may be taught to pursue careers of high pressure, while women may be encouraged to repress heavy emotions like anger.
Early childhood conditions, especially around financial and physical security, deeply shape how we handle stress as adults. In addition, the emotional stability of parents or guardians—notably father figures—is directly linked to how well we cope with pressure later in life. If a child lacks a secure foundation, the nervous system is not able to process stress and enters a freeze state.
Similarly, long-term stress, overwork and physical strain in adults can force the body to start bracing. When a high-performing professional works under constant pressure without enough recovery, their nervous system is no longer able to process the pressure and this might lead to a state of exhaustion. In this state, even the smallest matter can destabilise a person and cause friction in various areas of their lives. The lack of internal balance makes it challenging to deal with any minor disruption, as the nervous system interprets everything as genuine threats.
Systemic Sensitivity
Beyond the emotional realm, high sensitivity frequently manifests as a physical intolerance to modern environmental stressors, such as EMF radiation or environmental toxins. For instance, an individual sensitive to Wi-Fi frequencies may find their nervous system trapped in a state of high alert, unable to relax simply because their biology registers the invisible stimulus as a low-grade danger.
While some individuals are born with naturally more receptive sensory nervous systems, evidence suggests that heightened sensitivity—whether to environmental stressors, everyday sensory inputs like sounds, smells and sights or subtle shifts in energy—is often a trauma response. The trauma may be caused by a single shocking event, prolonged burnout or a chronic lack of emotional safety, protection and genuine love. When the environment chronically lacks these stabilising elements, the body starts to operate as a highly receptive recording device, unconsciously gathering intel from every situation. This is deeply draining for the system.
What we call 'empathy' or the ability to 'read a room' is rarely an innate trait. Instead, it is the result of a nervous system that has spent years bracing for impact, constantly scanning its surroundings to determine how one must behave in order to survive. This emotional sensitivity may eventually turn into physical intolerance to the environment as the accumulated stress starts to overwhelm the entire being. People become highly sensitive to environments that lack alignment and everyday sensory inputs like sounds, smells and sights. The body enters a permanent state of tension that the mind cannot simply rationalise away.
To finally drop its guard and recover, the body requires a pure environment, clean nourishment, absolute peace and complete safety. To support your system in releasing the accumulated tension, the curated Healing repository has sovereign self-help protocols and foundational deconditioning frameworks to explore. We recommend trying the Qigong protocol to instantly shift your energy.
